Technical Projects

This link will take you to Sound Cloud where I have uploaded several podcasts I created including Podcast #1 Front Matter for an Analytical Research Report; Podcast #2 Methodology; Podcast #3 Introduction; Podcast #4 Quoting, Summarizing, and Paraphrasing; and, Podcast #5 Website Domain Extensions.

During my PhD studies, I needed to do an internship, so I worked in the Digital Studio at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The blog, which I created in WordPress, below describes what I learned and the projects I created with the technology available.

In my History of Texts and Technology class, which was also for my PhD, I created a WordPress website with research gathered by my grandmother, Ruth Walp.  She became obsessed with the grave of a Jewish soldier that she found on a trip to Holland, and she spent years trying to find as much information as she could about him.   It turns out the Private lived one town away from her in California. All of her research was conducted before computers were ubiquitous, and I am amazed at the content that she gathered.

I created this website with her original artifacts out of love for her.   Unfortunately, by the time I finished this project, her dementia was advanced, so she never knew that I published the information.   I think she would be proud though.

This book was written for technical communication, information technology, and computer science students to help them understand how to write a software tutorial, also known as documentation, which they will encounter often when them get a position in their industry.

UCF Discord.docx

This tutorial, which introduces and explains how to use Discord, was written for higher education faculty. Since the majority of students use Discord in their daily lives, utilizing this platform for class ensures a higher level of interactivity and engagement with course content, other students, and the professor.
